If fuel tank was not previously drained, ensure fuel tank cap is installed to prevent spilling of any fuel. Position fuel tank straps away from fuel tank.ĬAUTION:To prevent fuel loss through hoses, keep left side of fuel tank higher than right side.ĭO NOT allow hose openings to drop lower than top of fuel tank. Remove 4 fuel hose shield mounting bolts and remove fuel hose shield.ĭisconnect filler and vent hoses from upper filler neck.ĭisconnect fuel supply line from fuel supply tube near front of fuel tank.ĭisconnect EVAP canister vent line near front of fuel tank.ĭisconnect fuel pump module electrical connector.
Remove fuel tank skid plate (if equipped). Release fuel pressure from fuel system, if not previously done. I would suggest if you can get a helper to hold the tank with youįuel tank may be drained by lowering fuel tank or if fuel pump is operating, by pumping fuel from fuel tank using a scan tool
